I have no experience at Lakepoint but we did refuse at Plano Presby when we had DS.

My recommendation would be to get a legal, notorized document stating that you are refusing the shots, eye goop, etc. Make sure you give a copy to your nurses and make sure the hospital staff is aware of your wishes. Don't ever let the baby be out of you or your husband's sight and you shouldn't have a problem.

We refused at Presby Dallas. I second not to let baby out of your sight. We had one of the twins get these things even though we refused b/c I was in recovery and the babies were separated and DH could only be w/one of them.

It is easy to refuse the Vit K shot, just tell them and they have no legal mandate to make you give it to your child. Repeat your preference often and don't allow baby to be out of your room without your hubby there as well if you are still concerned.

However, the law is that there are no exceptions for the eyegoop so if they push it there is not much you can do. Sometimes hospitals push it and sometimes they don't, it seems to be hit or miss these days. However, I would certainly ask if you can skip or delay it if that is what you wish. It may work out just fine.
