In all my short research I am still at a loss. So I guess I am still in search of more advice and answers.

I have found that I like FB the best. And I have been told that washing them in regular tide (just a small amount) is OK. Do a cold soak first and then a warm wash and an extra rinse. Hang to dry.

I have been told I can't wash them with other clothes. Why? : If I soak them first and then run them with the clothes and then rinse them again after the clothes, what would be the harm?

Just curious.

Where did you hear that FB cannot be washed w/regular laundry?

I don't believe I have heard that.

If your regular laundry does not have velcro, or other potentially abrasive items, I don't see why not. The other potential problem would be pilling. If the FB were washed w/flannel or cotton or hemp fleece, fabric fibers can collect on the FB fleece. It is unattractive, but does not affect performance.

As long as you follow the rules (no fabric softener, no natural soap, etc.) then you can wash them however you want. If you normally use fabric softener with your regular laundry, though, it's not a good idea, cuz it will get on the pocket diapers.

Thanks for the info on the diapers.

As I was cleaning out a poopie diaper, I thought of another question. I am going to dry pail these dipes till I wash them. I know to remove the insert and I am assuming that I should put the insert into a different pail.

But what if the dipe is pooped? I know that I should rinse them off so stains don't set in. But, then do I throw that in the dry pail or should I let in dry first and then throw in the dry pail or should I have another pail for that as well?

If it's just breastfed poop, throw both the insert and the FB in the dry pail together. No pre rinsing required. Do a rinse cycle with cold water before you do your hot wash and rinse(s) and they'll be fine. Sun out any stains.
If you have solid or thick poop, plop most of it in the toilet. Any smeary smooth bits will come out in the wash. You just want to get the solid or thick bits/chunks off.
