I have some leather shoes that have been sitting in my closet since last winter and I pulled them out today to wear and noticed that they are dry and "ashy" looking. What can I use on them to rehydrate? Would olive oil work?

Yup, I second the recipe above - I use a mixture of that to clean my wood furniture and leather furniture too

I have an olive oil, white vinegar and orange & lemon essential oil mixture that is superior to pledge since it doesn't make my hands scaly.

Don't use on suede - this can't be cleaned with olive oil and vinegar, but regular leather is fine.
