Those of you who have challenged the GFCF diet..what kind of reactions/behaviors/symptoms did you see if you saw any? DD has been GFCF for about 2 years now and I'm getting curious..she has made so many gains though so I'm nervous as all hell that she will regress hugely.
Thanks for your time!

We've also been gfcf for just about two years and I'm challenging right now (very slowly...once a week). I'm scared too of regression but the diet isn't working for us in many ways so I've finally decided to at least try. I don't think I've seen anything yet (week three) so I can't be much help there. I am using peptizyde enzyme with meals with gluten (or casein..which I'm re-trying as well slowly) and it makes me feel a bit more secure regression wise--are you using an enzyme?

I havent even decided if we are going to do it or not..I'm so nervous as she is starting to talk (as best she can with her apraxia) and wouldn't want to hurt that progress if that even would happen.
I have read about Enzymes..so we would probably start with that as well..
Thanks for your reply..every experience/advice helps!

My guy is eating casein again -- basically it was re-introduced and we saw no change in his behaviour.

I did a couple of challenges of gluten and saw no behaviour changes but his BMs were definitely different.

Gave up at that point. He's been GF for 6 years. If I revisit it, I would definitely use enzymes.

My ds had no problems when we reintroduced gluten after 2 years. He got a rash again from the wheat allergy he has but no real adverse behavioral reactions. We have just cut it out again(since he needs to be wheat free anyway) and are watching for good changes. It's only been about a week but have had no changes at all.

Yeah I am worried about the poops too..DD never had a normal bowel movement until a few months into the diet and she even still has occasional loose ones but NOTHING like she did before the diet (explosive and often and I was changing her clothes at least twice a day) but I am not sure if it was the gluten or the milk or something else all together..sigh.
Thanks for the replies!
