I'm back again. <br><br>
My husband and I have been separated for 6 weeks. At first, I was pretty confident that divorce was in the best interest of all concerned. However, my husband is now making promises to do all sorts of things I've been begging him to do for years, asking me for one more chance, and saying he will try to change.<br><br>
I'm very wary of these statements. Even if he is truly sincere, I'm doubtful that he is capable of true change (going by past history), and I'm doubtful that I have the energy to heal our relationship. But I don't want to divorce and then spend the rest of my life wondering what would've happened if we had tried one more time... I feel like I am completely stuck in limbo.<br><br>
So I guess my question is...what do you see as the outcome if I do give him that chance and stay in the relationship?

I would be wary too. I do think his intentions are true..his words are what he means..that he will <span style="text-decoration:underline;">try</span> to make these changes. But I do not see the changes happening in the end. There might be a short honeymoon period where he does do some things different, but he will disappoint you again, like he has so many times. I feel like it is time to move on and create the life you would really like to have, even if it means being a single Mom for awhile.<br>
I see so clearly your dh with someone else (in the future) and acting the same way, and doing the same things. And I see you so clearly just shaking your head in pity for his current partner and even for him for not growing up and therefore missing a lot of good things in life.<br>
