Article

But not a single doctor had ever raised a question, and in fact many doctors say that it is often impossible to identify the race of a newborn by skin tone. Pigment melanin, which determines skin color, may not fully develop until well after birth.

They used invitro fertilization, it was supposed to be her husbands sperm and her eggs...she gave birth to twins and one was blond, blue-eyed, and the other was "very brown", at first the nurses said it was related to jaundice.

My favorite quote:

Quote:

Dr. Brussel: I said, ‘I see two children and one is very white and one is very black. I’m puzzling how that’s possible?’

Wilma: He asked us if it had occurred to us that they were so different in color. And we said, “Yes, of course.”

They finally had DNA tests and confirmed that Willem was not the father and they did find the bio-father.

speculation is that a piece of lab equipment called a pipette, like a large eyedropper, had been used twice, causing another man’s sperm to be mixed with Willem’s.

The article goes on to talk about them raising both boys, it's interesting. They seem very loved and wanted.

The part I didn't like was when they wanted to celebrate being Twins and were denied...

[festival organizers] checked with several doctors, who told them that the Stuart boys were biologically half-brothers. The festival, unfortunately, is for medical biological twins.

I think they should be considered twins.

That's cool. I liked how the mother explained about what made them twins, and I think that should count.

I think it's a shame they are being denied from the twin activities.

I would be outraged at the techs at that clinic! I hope they got fired! I am an andrologist and I used to be an assisted Reproductive technologist. Using the same pipette??? Wow. BIG NO NO!

You were busy with your own children, that is what happened!

I had a friend with two children who separated from her DH for a period of time. During their separation, she had an affair with a man of another race.

She had a baby with this man. She kept the baby.

Later, she reconciled with her DH. They had one more child.

She and her DH have a lovely family of four children.

They worked it out.

That has been 30 years. Everything has gone quite well.
