I go in for a repeat ultrasound at my OB's office tomorrow morning at 11:30 am. I am extremely nervous. I had an ultrasound on November 16th that only showed a gestational sac. I went to the ER Friday evening after work and they repeated an ultrasound. I read over the ER doctor's shoulder and saw the tech that did the ultrasound on the 16th felt like she should've seen a fetal pole since she saw the gestational sac and a "faint yolk sac." The ER doctor said on the repeat ultrasound they saw the gestational sac and a clear yolk sac. So maybe it's all just slowly coming along. Tomorrow's ultrasound is making me really nervous since the OB pretty much said if we don't see something tomorrow it's the end of the road for us.

Im a bit surprised that your doctor is putting so much weight on an early u/s. In Canada you dont normally get one (unless you are high risk) until 12 weeks + - they are so much more accurate then!

With my first daughter I had one at 5 weeks to look for a sign of real pregnancy due to bad hcg numbers. They saw the gestational sac, were satisfied, and no more ultrasounds until 24 weeks.

With our other two daughters, no ultrasounds until 8+ weeks to check for heartbeat and date. OB also wanted to check for multiples since they were conceived on fertility drugs.

This OB is scaring me with all the pressure on ultrasounds.

Ultrasound is about an hour away. Thanks for all the good thoughts, ladies! I will most certainly update when I get back to the office.

Everything looked good at the ultrasound!

The tech put in my LMP as 10/3/10 when I clearly told her 10/6/10 or 10/10/10 and got totally confused when I told her the correct date. She did an abdominal scan first and couldn't really see anything since my uterus is tilted. So then she did the transvaginal, which I knew she'd have to do anyways since I'm so early. The sac measured 7w3d and the baby (yes! we saw the baby this time!) measured 6w1d. That gives us a new EDD of 7/20/11. The baby also had a faint heartbeat, but she said it was probably just starting and was "normal." I'm not sure how the gestational sac grew so much in just eight days. It measured 5w0d on 11/16 and 7w3d today, but I'm just ecstatic they finally saw a baby and heartbeat too!

Thank you again for all of your thoughts.
