I am bipolar. I have few extreme episode, but mainly dwell in a state of hypomania. I rapid-cycle a lot and have mixed states as well. I am currently unmedicated due to breastfeeding and I'm trying to see how life goes without medication (I LOVED my meds, hated going off of them during pregnancy, but they were category C).

Last week I had a short down episode and am now flying high as a kite and very wound up, had trouble sleeping the last few nights, having many many thoughts. I'm not a danger to myself, I'm just a bit bewildered with all the thoughts, it's very hard to filter them and concentrate. I haven't had a true manic episode in several years, usually I'm pretty stable.

So, I'm looking for easy-to-find homeopathic remedys for mania. Would any of ya'll recommend Rescue Remedy?

Give me your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks,
Jen

I wouldn't count on it to keep your moods stable. I don't know much about homeopathy, but if you're looking for natural remedies, fish oil is a good place to start. There's an excellent website that focuses on mental health, specifically Bipolar II - I'll point you to the section on fish oil, which is worth a read

hang in there and good luck! HTH!

Thanks for the info. I've read a lot about fish oil, but I'm vegan so I won't take it. From what I understand, it's actually the omega-three fatty acids which you can also get from nut/grain sources as well.

I'm not so much looking for a stabilizer, just something for a 'once-in-a-while' relaxer that will help me just chill when the manic episode is more pronounced. My ups and downs aren't very severe, but they are there nonetheless.

Thanks again

I love my Bach's. (I'm not bipolar.) I think you should definitley look into it. It could be a nice addition to your medicine cabinet.

Did you know there is Vegan DHA now? Many people with disorders like ASD, ADD and Bipolar cannot convert EFA's to DHA properly.
