HI! I'm trying to convince my insurance to help pay for some of my prenatal care and doula services. I know that it's been proven that women who labor with another caring woman in attendance have safeer labors with fewer interventions. Can anyone give me an exact citation so I can show the "powers that be"? Thanks!

Mothering the Mother by Klaus, Kennel & Klaus and The Thinking Women's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer. This are both good places to start. Also Dr. William Sear, Dr. Jay Gordan. You can do an internet search and email them. They actually will answer their emails. If you have a DONA doula, she can get help from DONA from the 3rd party chairwomen.
