So I got an email from the office manager. I am so pleased I think it is very positive. I have edited names for privacy.

June 11, 2004*

Dear Ms. B,*

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank-you for your feedback regarding your appointment with Ms H on June 2nd, 2004. I did take the opportunity to both talk with Ms. H and Ms. H as well as look at the website you referred me to, www.hmhba.org.

I found the information contained there very helpful and informational in regards to the important issue of support for breastfeeding mothers. *

At this time, please know that your feedback and information created the opportunity for the staff at WorkSource R to become more familiar with the laws and the protections surrounding breastfeeding mothers. Not only did I personally discuss these issues with Ms. H and Ms. H but we will be sharing this important information at the next WorkSource R All Staff Meeting to assure that all our staff are aware of the law and adhering to it fully.*

On an additional note, please know that I understand that breastfeeding is one of the most important contributors to infant health and thus, will be looking closely at the WorkSource R site to assure that we continue to actively promote a supportive environment within which breastfeeding mother's can feel comfortable. *

Again, thank-you for this valuable information. If I can be of any other further assistance to you regarding the issue of breastfeeding at WorkSource R, please do not hesitate to call me at (206) 205-3530. *

Sincerely*
*

That is awesome Sarah!
This is the woman who breastfed her own children right? That's so great. I'm so glad you followed through.

Now, I wonder if you could send her a follow up letter expressing your approval of their response and include one (or many) of those stickers for business windows that has a bfing woman and says "Breastfeeding Welcome(d) Here."

No this is actually the boss of that woman. And I just got finished sending her an appreciative thank you letter.

Hey thanks everyone. When I was pregnant I never pictured myself being an advocate for breastfeeding and it isn't like I seek it out I just really don't appreciate being told that I cannot feed my child in the way that my body was meant to.

I do know that some other people that I know from another board also wrote letters so I am sure that that helped as well.

I just want to thank all of you for your support. If it wasn't for this board I might not have had the courage or the education to stand up for my rights. So really I think that all of you ladies need a round of applause.

Good job. Now we gotta get someone else to go in there and nurse and see what they actually do. Anyone up for some recon?

Very good job. An excellant example of how breastfeeding advocacy should be carried out, and makes a difference.
