My DS, much to my amazement (and his :LOL) is completely retractile at 15mo. I'm not worried exactly but I certainly wasn't expecting this this early in his life. Do I need to do anything differently, hygeine-wise, than I have been doing since the game has changed, so to speak?

My eldest could retract at 7 months and his younger brother at least at age 2 or so. I only ever found this out by accident- once when I picked up my eldest while crawling naked and the other time when my youngest retracted it himself. Even now that my eldest is 6 1/2 years old, he can retract most of the way but I don't ask him to. There just isn't any reason to "clean" before puberty; it takes care of itself. Even if they have a really poopy diaper (I remember my eldest doing that when he was about 2), its not even really an issue. If it were really bad, and poop DID happen to "get in there" (my eldest has a short foreskin), I put him in the bath to soak for a few minutes.

So to sum it up, no it doesn't really change and its not that big a deal.
My sister's twins are 2 1/2 and have been able to retract for a while and their foreskins are quite long and narrow and still they don't retract to "clean" either.
