I was going to just buy a few reusable swim diapers for my almost 2 year old this summer, and was wondering, has anyone used them as training pants during the rest of the day? I hear they don't absorb like sposies or the nice cloth ones, but kinda hold in leaks, so I figure he would be able to feel when he pees, yet not leak through on his clothes.
We're using disposables right now, and thin cloth trainers around the house. Too late to invest in cloth diapers, but the swim ones are so inexpensive. I'd probably need separate ones though.. incase the ones from the pool are all chlorine-y.
(I feel silly asking this when it's below freezing outside, but they swear it'll be 80 by the end of the week!!

I'd agree with the guess that they would be too tight to wear as underwear all day. And in my experience, no, they are not waterproof. They are designed to keep poop out of the pool, not liquids in or out of the diaper.
Just stick with your trainers and maybe some fleece pants to keep your furniture dry.

Yeah that to what others have said - DS' old swim diaper (which I can't find...) was definetly not leak proof - it was meant to keep POOP out of the water, but not pee. Pee is sterile and thus not a real concern most places. Its the poop that you want to contain!!
