I think I had these (undiagnosed) after my DD. I took Metamucil and ate lots of fiber and drank LOTS of water to keep things from getting worse. I skipped one day of the Metamucil and they got bad again. So stick with the fiber!

I also sat on an ice pack a lot Sorry. They suck.

I would think about increasing vitamin C and zinc and I would avoid fiber supplementation. I would also try increasing raw fats (raw butter, avocado, cream, coconut oil etc.) If your bowels aren't moving smoothly then that's a whole other issue. IF you do need to soften things a bit I would use magnesium. NaturalCalm is the brand I tend to like best.

well i had them after i had my youngest, but not bad at all. i have a few tips, don't hold in a BM until you really really have to go, cause then there is no slowing it down and taking your time and it is really gonna hurt alot. second witch hazel wipes always soothed me esp after a BM and they helped with the itching. an ice pack was always great but only for a short time.
a peri bottle with warm water can be helpful as well it is soothing.
other than that plenty of water, lots of fiber, minimal stress, esp when you're "going".
good luck hopfully it will get better, mine healed up and i haven't had a problem since

To keep things in check, stay well hydrated, eat lots of natural fiber, do not strain during bowel movements.

ETA: Whole Foods carries both of those products.
