Another one of the 'do as we say, not as we do' crowd from Dubya Inc. bites the dust:

"Randall L. Tobias, the deputy secretary of state responsible for U.S. foreign aid, abruptly resigned yesterday after he was asked about an upscale escort service allegedly involved in prostitution, U.S. government sources said.

"Tobias resigned after ABC News contacted him with questions about the escort service, the sources said. ABC News released a statement last night saying Tobias acknowledged Thursday that he had used the service to provide massages, not sex.

"Tobias has been Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's point man in an ambitious effort to overhaul how the U.S. government manages foreign aid, a key part of her "transformational diplomacy" agenda. Just two days ago, President Bush lauded Tobias for his work in the administration leading "America's monumental effort to confront and deal with the HIV/AIDS epidemic on the continent of Africa."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...702497_pf.html

(First of all, as my name is Tobias, that article bugged me...)

So did I read correctly that this dude is on the fore-front of the "don't have indiscriminate sex" policy in Africa? Sweet!

D.C. has more escorts per capita than any other city in America. Word on the street is that Republicans are their bread and butter....

Didn't they learn anything from Brother Haggard? A "massage" from an "escort" is a euphemism in the highest degree.

I'm surprised they didn't have the nerve to boast that it was a female escort, at least.

Little rant...

As somebody who worked a a licensed massage therapist for 10 years, I find these things really annoying. An escort is not a massage therapist. If you are seeking sex, then yes... you should go to the escort... but please don't pass it off as a "massage" later on. If you are seeking a massage, try a local massage school for a recommendation. DC actually has a very good massage school (and one that has been in business for ages) called the Potomac Myotherapy Institute.

Quick lesson on how to tell a real massage therapist from an escort (works for female escorts at least)... take a look at their nails. Real massage therapists will have very short nails... escorts usually have nails that go the other way.

BTW... DC does license its massage therapists... so I would be interested to know if Ms. Palfrey's girls are licensed.

This guy, Tobias, actually has a pretty good resume as far as corporate America goes, was the CEO of Eli Lilly. (OK...evil pharma company, but still... he did have a "real" background.)

It is delightful, of course, when they nail an abstinence supporter in a sex scandal. But I have a feeling that if the Madame ever publishes the entire client list, the range of names will give the word "bi-partisan" a new meaning.
