My wife and I are going through some preliminary screenings for choosing midwives. What are some important questions to ask to ensure proper care and a cohesion of birth philosophies from both sides? Thank you

i'd ask how an average birth works for her, this would be to hear how much checking and attendance she does. i'd want to know her transfer rate (if hb), her birth philosophy, how many births she has attended, what would require her risking you out of care, her back up situation, who her back up doc is and how involved and when are they involved. okay, that is what comes quickly to mind. hths!!
