Ring of fire

I ended up with an epidural for my dd's birth. I could feel pressure but not pain. I felt her slide out but no ring of fire. I figured it was because of the epidural.

2 years later my ds was born and I had a natural labor. He flew out really fast. I remember right before I pushed my contractions were really bad and I screamed that I couldn't do it but I didn't feel a ring of fire or much pain at crowning and could barely feel him sliding out. I couldn't quite believe he was out until a squishy baby was placed on my stomach.

Did anyone else not really feel crowning and not have the ring of fire when the head was coming out?

With my fourth baby I didn't. One of the midwives was massaging down there or something and they told me to reach down and feel the baby and I felt the whole head out and was really shocked.
I have heard and read that not all women feel it, lucky ladies!
