Roley Poley or Doodlebug, whatever you call those critters. . . we're having a problem with them <i>in our house</i>.<br><br>
It seems there's a bunch of them near one of our doors that opens to the back yard and they're coming inside. I saw one earlier today and thought ~ aw, how cute, because I don't really mind seeing an occasional bug in my house. But then I noticed that it had come from where there were waaay more of them right near the door crack and that was so NOT cute! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br><br>

We have this problem as well. We have a walkout basement and the space between the back door and the screen door gets absolutely filled with dead Roley Polies. We don't use the door often and in the course of a couple of weeks we ended up with a 3 inch deep layer. YUCK!!!!<br><br><br>
They also somehow make it into the storage space on the other side of the basement. That part is fully under ground and has incredibly thick walls. I have no idea where they are getting in

Yeah, that's exactly where there are, here, too - in the space right around the door. It happens to be an outside-going door that's in my daughter's bedroom. Fortuately, her bed is raised off the floor, but I'm still not cool with them crawling around her room. Neither is she. Yikes!

they live around damp dead decaying matter, is there leaf litter/mulch right around the door? maybe push it back some, dry it out.<br><br>
I'm glad you called them Roley Poley, my husband insists they are called pill bugs, yuck about that name, roley poley is so much better!

Oh... that is good info to have. There is quite a bit of foliage very close to that door. I'll go check it out. Thanks for the tip and LOL about the different names for them!
