Any strange looks, comments? Do you do a rinse at home first so the dipes aren't as ,ahem, stinky?
I have a working washer right now, but it is old and cranky
and I don't know how much longer it will last and I might end up having to go to the laundromat. Just wondered what your experiences were.

me!

I have a minishower and i spray all messy dipes and any super wet ones (to rinse excessive amounts of urine).

I use a Bummis bag, stick the whole bag in the washer and turn it inside out. no smells. i swear no one even knows what i'm washing.

I don't have issues with laundromats AT ALL.

I do our diaper wash at the laundry mat once a week. The only person who has ever noticed was an older woman who said "I haven't seen cloth diapers since I had my babies 50 years ago!"

My routine is to use a dry pail and then fill it up with hot water, a few tea tree oil drops, and a drop of lavender. I fill it up a few hours before heading over to the laundry mat. Right before I go, I drain out the water and they're ready to wash. This saves any need for an extra rinse and extra quarters!
If it's sunny I will line dry at home other wise I dry them there.

Pretty easy. Watch out though, some laundry mats washers will leave you with diaper stink. Pay a little extra for the good machines.

our laundrymats have huge 50 lb front loaders that have a prewash cycle. I put detergent in the prewash and nothing in the wash cycle so that it acts like the first rinse. at home I use a few PUL bags as dry pails. I don't do anything with newborn BM only poo but after solids I use disposable liners and rewash the non-poo ones.
