Which would you get first for casual sewing? What's the actual difference? I've decided that part of why I haven't made dd a dozen little dresses is that I detest and suck at basting-style gathering.
The ruffler. No contest. Once you have worked out how to use it you'll be looking for all kinds of gathered up stuff to sew.<br><br>
IME the ruffler gives much more obvious results than the gathering foot.<br><br>
