Well, at least she'll finally be able to get that lesbian sex she told the police about in prison.

In all seriousness...they don't need to tie up the criminal justice system for a case like hers....give her a fine equal to what was spent to find her, 150+ community hours, and revoke any legal right for her to make $ off of her "story" in the future. Then let it be.

That's stupid- I don't think she should be charged with any crime. She got cold feet. There are other things law enforcement should be worried about. Yeah I agree she should be some restitution put be put in prison? No. Don't even tell me that this backwards country thinks so. No wonder prisons are so crowded; we put all kinds of normal people in there for "crimes" that really are physcological problems or addiction issues, and well low and behold there is no room for people who actually NEED to be there. I think law enforcement should get off their high horses. You shouldn't be locked up for lying to a police officer. They're going to find out the truth anyway, and they're only human like the rest of us, so why does the uniform suddenly make them God-like? It doesn't.

dallaschildren, I agree. And I think for her community service, she should have to assist in a search when someone goes missing... that might open her eyes about how she wasted the time of the police and the citizens of her town.

Well I for one feel SO MUCH SAFER! We can't have people like her, people that might LIE to authority figures, out and about in society.

And people wonder why we have to yet again raise local/state taxes to build yet another prison?

Thanks Kristin That was how I felt. I can't decide if I want to force myself to stay away from controversial threads or use my new, hormone enhanced bitchiness to really slam dunk a thread

I'm glad she got charged...odds are she won't get jail time but will get a very hefty fine and some community service and I think she will deserve every bit of it! What she did was horrible!

I think charging her with a crime is a complete waste of public resources. Everyone seemed so dissappointed when they found her alive. Send her a bill and be done with it. I can't believe the media is wasting more time on it. Wait, maybe it is because they don't want anyone paying attention to the real news going on.

I don't think we should waste jail time on her, especially since she's already been arrested a few times and she obviously didn't learn anything from it. If they make her repay for the $$ spent on the search, she won't really pay for it probably, her rich family will and then she still won't learn her lesson. I still think she should pay in back, even if she doesn't from her own pocket.
I think she should do ALOT (at least a few years) of community service, specifically in the area of lost loved ones, the search involved and she should definently directly needs to see what happens to these families and how they react when their missing loved one turns up dead, especially the innocent children. She wasted ALOT of time and resources just because she was being selfish.
