I just found out that Pascack Valley is closed and my hoped-for midwife (Lonnie) is delivering at hospitals not close to me and/or not VBAC friendly. I cant believe it.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
Whats the VBAC situation like in NYC? I'm willing to go into the city for a midwife and VBAC if thats what it takes--I'm even thinking about Kimball and I live in Essex County! thx

Have you considered a homebirth? My friend is in your same situation---she's 6 months along and her mw's office just closed, and she was hoping for a (hospital) VBAC. maybe look into hb midwives in your area? My friend (who is very AP/natural mama) was leary of the idea until she: 1. saw The Business of Being Born and 2. had a midwife tell her "A OB attended hospital birth has a 40% chance of turning into a c-sec, a hospital, midwife attanded birth has a 20% chance and a homebirth has a 5% chance."<br><br>

sylvestre, but i don't know if he's the best choice...better than others though. hb is really the best chance of having a vbac in this city imo. there are some amazing mw's out of the city.
