I'm posting this for a good friend of mine. She needs to find a good home for her special needs cat. Description below - PM me for contact info.

Thought I'd throw it out there to the Universe and see what happens...

I need to find a new home for my cat Rebel. She is a small, dark, tortoiseshell cat with extra toes. She is about 5 years old. She is an indoor/outdoor in the summer cat. No cold feet for this cat! I have raised her since she was a kitten. She is an EXCELLENT mouser! Unfortunately, her special needs require me to find her a new home.

Rebel has chronic Urinary Tract infections. So she requires prescription food from the vet to keep her urinary tract healthy. She has not had an infection since starting the prescription food. She also takes hairball medication to keep her from vomiting. It is a cream that you rub on her paw and she licks it off. Easy enough.

Ever since the birth of my second son (who is 3) this cat has not been the same. She has taken to peeing on everything. In front of doors and on my clothes. She pees next to the litterbox as long as long as something of mine is there. After spending a lot of money, exhausting EVERY single resource, using 2 different vets, trying to find out if this is a physical problem we (the vet and I) have determined that this is purely a behavioral problem. She is jealous and is trying to own me. I’ve researched this, talked to other experienced cat people, and tried to make accommodations for her.

Unfortunately, what I think she needs is a new home. She needs to be in a quiet home with no children or dogs. She is fine with 1 other “easy going” cat. I believe her behavior would turn around and she would be happy without all the commotion in my house. It is always crazy around here and we have dogs and friends visiting regularly. A friend just told me about a similar situation and when the cat got a new home it was fine.

I know that most of you think I’m nuts!!! Who takes a cat that pees and has special needs?!?!?! But I’m looking for that one person and animal lover who would like give her a chance. To see if she is happier somewhere else. I won’t bring her to the humane society because she doesn’t like other animals, and they will eventually put her down anyway. I DO NOT want to put her to sleep. But that is becoming my only option and this is my very last resource. Thanks for reading and feel free to ask ANY questions.

I will provide her new owner with 2 cases (48 cans) of prescription food and 2 tubes of hairball medicine. Also, if she has problems in her new home… I would be happy to take her back.

Aww, poor kitty. I'll ask around, I know a couple of people who do rescue.

The cat's absolutely beautiful...big green eyes. I'd take her myself, but I have a cat-terrorizing todder...not sure it would be such a great match.
