My brother and sister in law have this idea to rent a big RV and go across the country next year. I think its sounds neat but not sure if its feasible with little ones. My dd will be just 3 and theirs will be 1. Anyone done this?? Can you even put carseats in an RV - do they go up to the table so kids could color or do other things? My main concern is entertaining two toddlers on long travel days.

You can put car seats in an RV, but ONLY if the belts and seats are bolted to the frame. And most aren't, they're just nailed to the floor.

We had this problem not to long ago, because you can't put the seat up at the table (wooden seats nailed to the floor) and you can't put them in the front seat rear facing (air bags). Luckily we found one that had a rear captains chair that was secured to the frame. I was *this* close to not going.

If we do it again we'll pull a trailer with the truck. Way safer.

we have seats with belts for 4 in our RV (working on putting a 5th in). we've done long trips with little kids (Noah was 3 when we moved to MO-over 2000 miles) and haven't had a problem.
