Today I have been reading on this board some and I just cry. I know you all can sympathyze with this feeling. I can't even describe what I am feeling because it just brings me more sadness.

My nephew was circ'd about a week ago and I have cryed for him as well. I tried my best to educate my brother, but alas, he is wrapped around his gf's finger and does whatever she wants. Now my nephew has stopped gaining weight and is having troubles nursing. Now she has to pump and feed him with a bottle. He has probably stopped trusting her :

I just don't understand it! I get so angry at people sometimes.

So now for the bit of happiness. My dear friend called me last week to tell me she is 24 weeks pregnant with a little boy. Her and I were like sisters for a very long time. She had a really bad drug problem so wasn't in touch regularly for a few years. Now that she is pregnant she has cleaned up and is doing well. I'm very proud of her The point is, I can talk straight with her and she listens. She had planned on circing, but after hearing me talk on and on for 20 minutes or so - she will not be circ'ing.

I know we can't win them all. I am very happy my friends son will be left perfect, but I still cry often and feel deep sadness for my nephew. I know my brother new it was wrong. I can't even get his gf in a room long enough to talk straight with her. I feel like I have let my nephew down

He lost his foreskin and because of it he may lose his nursing relationship with his mother too.

I just want to beat my head against a wall or bury it in the sand sometimes.

I also want to put some circ. info in my sig. I can't even bring myself to watch that circ. video, but I may put it in my sig line anyway. If anyone has some reccomendations for the best link to advertise, please lmk.

I'm so sorry this happened to your little nephew

I pray his mothers repents and that he forgives his mama for what she has done, and that he's able to breastfeed and somehow trust her again

I understand your pain, and your frustration. I have 4 circumcised nephews, two of my sister's sons, and two of my dh's sister's kids. It bothers me to no end, and the worst part is, most of my family thinks I'm the one who made the terrible decision when I left my baby intact.

The thing is, you didn't let your nephew down. His mother did, and his father too, to be sure. You did what you could, and unfortunately in this country where so many myths and lies are told about circumcision by the medical community (those we are supposed to trust) there's not a lot you can do.

Focus on the positive, and keep talking to mom's who are willing to listen. Any baby who remains intact because of your influence is a blessing you're resonsible for. But if people won't listen to you, don't take it as a failure.

Take care! And keep getting that message out there!
