Hello-

Have tried a few times in the past to see if there are any mamas in this area who would be interested in getting together. I would love to start a small playgroup for me and my DD Isabel who is 16 months. Have had a hard time finding a group. Not much in the way of any establised mommy groups. I think Isabel is starting to want more interaction than Mommy all day (same with mommy!) I work parttime (2 days a week), but otherwise am mostly free.

I just moved to the area and so I would love the opportunity to hang out with mothers and other kids but I am still pregnant so there would not be baby-baby interaction

Hi! We're not in the Gettysburg area yet, but we're thinking about moving there from Oregon. I wanted to find out if you ever had success meeting other mothering.com type parents in Gettysburg, since that's the group we'll be seeking if we end up there this summer. Also, do you have any thoughts on preschools in the area? We're coming from a co-op preschool that we love and are so sad to leave behind, so we're looking for a great place for our kids to go, and if we can't find it, possibly start our own.

Kimberly....We live in Gettysburg. I feel like I'm the only person cloth diapering, natural birthing, and not vaccinating here. Maybe I just haven't met them yet. There is one good daycare/preschool but they have a waitlist a mile long for infants and toddlers. I don't think that's an issue for older children. My older child who is 9 went there and we were very pleased. It's called Gettysburg Growing Place. If you do/ did come to Gettysburg let me know...
