I'm taking 3 classes this semester (had to drop one and I don't know what to replace it with!) I have 2 online classes and 1 night class. ETA: I'm taking Anatomy and Phys. II with lab, Human Growth and Development, and Oral Communication.

Last spring and fall, I did 4 classes each semester, all online. I'd say I spent about 15 hours a week doing class work, maybe 18 in a busy week. This semester will probably be a little more involved since I'm finally taking at least the one class with real live humans again

I'm working on a nursing degree.

I am taking Statistics, Human Resources and my Capstone course. All are night classes. One my dh is in as well - we call it our "date" night

I spend a lot of time studying - but mostly I do it while I'm nursing ds. He likes to sleep and nurse so we are sitting still a lot! Or while dd plays on her swings. I don't keep a running total.

I think a degree is something important to have. I have an associates in accounting already, which is probably more valuable for a job hunt than my generic business degree - but I'm not going back to work so it doesn't really matter. Although in our state a bachelors is required to become a sub in the public schools. If we ever decide to send our kids to school I want to scope out the situation first

I just finished my degree in April. I usually took 2 classes at a time, but there at the end I had a load of 15 credits to just get it done. At the end, I probably spent 20 hours on coursework/week. Before that, maybe an hour a day.

My degree is in psychology, with plans to get a masters in MFT. When my kids are older, I plan to be a therapist. I'll start my masters program when the little ones are in school.

What classes are you taking? Chemistry starting next week

How many hours do you spend in class/online/doing homework?
7 hours in class, not sure how many studying since it hasn't started yet.

What's your motivation for taking classes (degree-seeking or personal enrichment)?
Degree seeking. Hope to be a nurse someday. It will be about 5 years though.

For the past 5 years, I've been taking 2 classes per semester. Usually online, but there were 3 sems. that I took them on-campus. All the classes were library science ones, with a few lit. classes thrown in.

On average, I spent about 10 hours/week, outside of classtime on school work. The only class I spent more time on was cataloging, and that's because it was sooooo boooring that I couldn't focus and ended up taking more time than it should have.

I am taking 1 online class. I try to watch 2-3 class lecture videos each week...so that is about 3 hrs per week. But then when a big assignment is due, I try to spend a few days finishing that one big assignment. Maybe longer if it like a research paper.

I am taking a Marriage and Family Therapy class right now. I am just 2 classes aay from my master in counseling. I so want to be done! Just 2 classes away yet it seems like so much because I don't want to be doing school anymore.

I will hopefully be taking 2-3 classes this semester. That is if my school ever gets back to me with my final admissions stuff & financial aid info.
: I'm going to try to take Survey of Social Science Research Methods, Business enterprise in American Society, and Family & Society.

My BA is in Anthropology. I'm using these classes to get a feel for if I want to go back & pursue my Master's or not. The goal of the Master's is so I could teach night courses at one of the local colleges (there is quite a demand for adjunct evening teachers around here). That way I can still SAH & homeschool the kids during the day & work a couple evenings a week when DH can be home with them.

If I decide not to take the Master's route I'll still be studying though. My other choice is to get my certification through ALACE as a Childbirth Educator & Doula. Hey...come to think about it, I'll probably do that anyway!

Thanks everyone! It's really interesting to hear what you're all taking.

I'm looking into a few online programs (degree seeking MA), but I'm starting to realize that right now is not the time. We want one more child (ttc in a year), so I think I'll wait until he/she is here. But, there are a couple classes at the CC that look good, and I know they have some online options (but I haven't checked into them yet). My dh is totally supportive, so it's just a matter of me making the arrangements. I'm pretty excited
