Just to let you all know, there is a SLC extended breastfeeding group (nursing beyond the first year) that meets at the Sprague library in Sugarhouse (2100 S. and 11th East shopping center, just past Barnes and Noble). They meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 10 am in the basement. There are lots of AP moms there, although I think the more formal play groups have folded a bit for the winter. The topics are usually more political in nature and also more focus on discipline/parenting topics. The general meeting for nursing during the first year meets at the same time and place, only the first Thurs of the month. You can go to www.lalecheleague.org to find the contact info if you want. Great to hear from AP moms in Utah!
I am in Kaysville with a 6 month old little boy and I would LOVE to see a playgroup started! I work from home and Jack and I sure could use some fresh faces once in a while. Question is... how do you start one of these things? Just pick a date and a place, I suppose, huh? Does anyone have a suggestion for a place? I'm up for anywhere, although I know winter pretty much warrants the indoors.
Sorry I haven't checked this for a while....
I could do the last tuesday of January at the downtown library...
So, that's 3 of us now right?
has anyone seen meetups.com, i'm going to go there and check it out, i'll let you know.
I can certainly try to make it.. so that's Tuesday, January 25, at the SLC library downtown, right? What time is good for everyone? I have a six month old that is down for the night around 7 pm. Is 5 pm too early?
My name is Michelle I'm the leader for the Salt Lake Mommas Milk Meetup I've been trying to get a time for everyone to meet but it is kind of a dead group. I need to do more but w/ sick kids this month it hasn't happened. If you guys are interested I'll organize a meeting I need input tho and probably someone in SLC (I'm in Tooele) to find a spot. E mail me.
Hi local Utahn's, I've just started a Liberal AP Parents yahoo group for Utah. I know there are alot of conservative groups going on and that's great, but decided to form a group of parents that practice Attachment Parenting, and who are also liberal in their politcal views. A place to talk about parenting issues and political issues. If your interested, please join us:
so, i'm new to this- did you guys end up starting an ap group? i'm originally from detroit and i was a director of an alternative preschool where we went into the homes for "playgroups". it's a wonderful program and if anyone is interested, i'd love to have something regular for my son (5mos) and myself.
