I know there are some here, there was a thread awhile back but it's long since buried.

I'm Heather - my son Brenten will be 4 months old in a couple of days. We attended a mothers gathering at Mother's Haven for a little bit, but it wasn't really our thing. : What do you all do with your little ones for fun and social interaction?

I'm here ! Glendale is the SF Valley, yes? I've lived in LA for 7 years & I still can't figure that out

We go to the zoo a lot. Also Griffith Park is so close. And I have 2 mommies that I get together with every few weeks that I met online.

Want to meet at the zoo one day?

We're in Burbank/Toluca Lake. We don't get out "for fun" very often yet, but we did go to free day at Huntington Gardens in Pasadena/San Marino today. It was a lovely time. First Thurs of every month. Lots of mamas and babes, especially in the Children's garden.

I'd love to go to that, but so far the King of Car Seat Screaming hasn't made longer drives sound very appealing!

I have no clue if Glendale is considered SF Valley or not. Close enough!

I've been wanting to go to the LA Zoo, I haven't been in at least 12 years (!!?)
My little guy isn't old enough to care where I drag him yet, but I'd enjoy it!

I hear that! My boys had a real hard time in the carseats at first. I really think their regular visits to the chiro have REALLY helped. Now they do great in the car. Let me know if you want the name of ours, he's in Sherman Oaks and treats a lot of babes.

Anyway, it was a surprisingly quick trip to the gardens... less than 1/2 an hour from my house since I didn't have to go at a high traffic time.

And regarding the zoo... when do kids actually get any enjoyment from such an outing? I'm trying to take them to free stuff until they can actually get something out of a "paid" outing.

Damien loves this sort of stuff. He's very social & loves being around people & activity. I think they always get something out of any outing. It's all enrichment. However, I still think the zoo is more for me than him at this point. Because of how the exhibts are set up, it's hard for him to see the animals, even in the mei-tai... they're just too far away. But he still likes getting out.

We took Damien to the aquarium in Long Beach back in Jan (he was 8 months old). He LOVED that. It's a totally different experience than the zoo. Just looking at the big fish exhibts was amazing. But also they have petting pools. Even though he couldn't pet, the up close & personal aspect really got him. And the lorikeet feeding area was a big hit as well.

Let me know when you want to do the zoo thing. Descanso Gardnens is an alternative to Huntington as well & also much cheaper. We're members at the zoo, so it's "free" LOL

We actually have a great chiro in North Hollywood. She's helped us a ton with his latch issues in the beginning, and his head only turning one way comfortably. As a family we are in the office 2x a month, Brenten doesn't get adjusted every time, but she will often just feel his spine/neck to see if he needs to be. Unfortunately I think the car seat screaming is just pure hatred of the dreaded seat. I will definitely bring it up when we are in there next though - certainly can't hurt!
