do they mix??!

I'm planning on building a sandbox big enough for ds (20 months)to get in and dig around. As it is, his diapers already get filled with rocks, dirt and whatever else might be in the yard and for the most part they seem to come clean in the wash. He has a habit of dumping things over his head...shovel full of dirt works its way down the shirt and into diaper. Sand just does not wash out like dirt...at least it seems that way to me. Naked butt in the sandbox seems, well rather uncomfortable.

What do you do? Am I making more out of this than necessary? I don't want to ruin our dipes.

Thanks,
I haven't a clue, but could you pick up some of the cloth swim dipes from Target and use those with an insert/CPF in there? That way you're still using cloth, but not risking your pockets.

Maybe x-post in diapering for more suggestions?

Good luck! I'd want to preserve my pockets too -- they're not cheap.
