I woh full-time. At 11:30, I leave work, go nurse ds. At 12:00 dd and I leave to drop her off at school. I'm back here at 12:30 (hahahahahahaaa!).

So, I eat my lunch in the car. In an attempt to simply my life and to speed things up in the morning, I make a bunch of sandwiches on Sunday night and put them in the freezer. They're cool but thawed by lunchtime.

Problem: They kinda taste like the ziploc bags I freeze them in. Blech.

Question: What else can I put my sandwich in that won't make it soggy when it thaws but also won't make it taste like plastic?

Gosh that is so smart to freeze them in advance!

How about using plastic tupperware-style sandwich holding plastic boxes? This website if you scroll down, has Rubbermaid sandwich storage containers, 6 for 12 bucks plus shipping. Or you could just get them in town. They take up more space in the fridge than plastic bags, though. They are plastic but they shouldn't make the food taste like plastic.

Or...maybe wrap the sandwiches in wax paper and then pop them in the plastic bags so that they don't get freezer burnt?

What do you do when you eat them to keep the crumbs from going all over your clothes?

I have a couple of Tupperware sandwich containers, but the sandwich gets soggy on one side in them. That's a fresh sandwich, though. I can only imagine it'd be worse if the sandwich was frozen first.

I have some freezer paper. I'll have to try that. I really like the idea of washing and reusing the ziploc. Can you reuse wax and freezer paper?

As far as crumbs, I brush them off. (My car is a rodent's buffet.) I keep a kitchen hand towel in the car to toss over my lap or across TheGirlsWhoCatchEverything.

If this freezer paper/wax paper idea doesn't work, I'll probably start taking sliced meat and cheese and a few crackers. Unless they don't stay fresh enough once sliced...cuz I don't want to do it every day. Ugh. Why do I get hungry? It's such a pain the butt.
