I have eight panels of cream colored silk and polyester (i think--don't have them in front of me) curtains I bought a few yrs ago for our apt. We moved and I honestly was not going to use them because I wanted more color (everything seems a bit blah). They are pretty nice and would save me some cash. Should I have someone do it? Can I dye these myself?? If so, how?? I have never done anything like this so I'm a little nervous about messing it up. It's either this or craigslist! Any ideas would be appreciated!

Exact fiber content makes a big difference. Silk is very easy to dye, but polyester is hard.

Can you snip a bit from the back where it won't be seen and do a test swatch? I've never dyed before, but this might give you an idea of what results you'll get.

You might also try Dharma Trading for more dye info.
