I saw the MW yesterday for first official visit. I was 10w3d. But when she felt for my uterus, she said that it was a 13-14w size!

We will find out as we go along, I guess. This is my 3rd pg, so it could be that my body just says, "Oh yeah, I know what's going on here!" AND I am still very nauseous, so I feel I am around 10 weeks still. Either way, it's fine.

We are going to have a VERY short U/S around 20 weeks at my only trip to an MD, so that might/might not give us some clues.

Everything else was great.

I measure big also. I did with preg #2 and #3. The first time we freaked about twins, but it was just one. The second time we thought maybe twins too, but then looked at my history and decided to just play it by ear (no u/s). Just one again.

Now here I am at preg #4 and it's the same thing again. I'm 10w2d and my fundal height is already nearing my belly button. Maybe 2 finger widths below. I already had an u/s, so I know it isn't twins this time either. Evidentally, my uterus just doesn't like to waste any time. Interestingly, I don't continue to measure big through my pregnancies. I'm typically right on track by about 20 wks along.

Hi. I'm crashing in from the Sept. DDC b/c I noticed you are in Alpharetta and I am too. Just wanted to say neighbor. I'm expecting #3 also and my body definetely "remembers" what it's doing. I swear my stretch marks from past pregnancies are already getting darker. :

Yeah I have heard that the measurement system for second + children really isn't accurate so I wouldn't sweat it. I also notice the twin mamas who are showing a discrepency are showing a BIG one, I really have tried to locate my uterus but have not been successful, I have a good friend coming over tonight and we'll see if she can spot it Good luck I hope it turns out the way you want it to!

Well that makes me feel a little better. I went Monday. I should've been a bit over 9 weeks but they said I felt more like 15 weeks :
I have an ultrasound Monday to check the "dates" but I'm really afraid it is twins! I'm pretty sure I'm not more than 10 wks but maybe since this is my 3rd baby my uterus is just getting back in the groove early!

Me too me too.

I had my first appt on Monday, at 12 wks 4 days, and my MW said I was measuring closer to 16 weeks. She thinks I conceived a month before and just had a fake period. I am pretty sure she's wrong, since I know I had a BFN on Nov. 9 and a BFP on Nov. 10, so unless I was pg with an unimplanted babe or not making HCG, there's no way. I AM going for an ultrasound tomorrow, not so much because of the dates (I'm so sure I am right) but because I really want to know that there's only one in there. I'll know more tomorrow...

(it always gets my goat when the meds get all excited about something being "different from the norm" and yet it seems that EVERYONE is different from the norm. shouldn't that be the new norm? like when your first baby is "late" and someone reminds you "all first babies come late" well, then, don't they all come on time, just a later time that what we've decided is "normal"??? OK thanks for letting me vent I am done now.)

I had my full AF on the 4th of November and even tested a week before AF was due on the 2nd of December and the test was negative. I waited until the 4th of December to test again and it was finally positive. That's why when she asked, "Are you sure you have it right?" I said yes. But she sure made me question myself.

HomeBirthMommy, PM me. I haven't been online in a few days, so I didn't read your post until now. I'd love to get to know more like-minded people around here... it's like we are stuck in the middle of a funky, over-medicalized time warp sometimes. I know at least I do.

I'm a few weeks (and a couple of kids) behind you, but i'm in Roswell and wanted to join the "howdy, neighbor" club! We just moved from Alpharetta to Roswell, where i'm a native and teach art classes. I'm measuring right on schedule at 9w4d. So... um... hi!
