I don't have one either. But my family did when I was growing up.
It was the only way to get the cats to come out of hiding- they were always sure we were opening tuna! :LOL
I remember my sister, age 20, calling me from a friend's house. The friend had only a manual can opener, and I had to try to explain how to use it over the phone.
