I detest electrc can openers, though I do see their use for people who would have genuine trouble using a manual one. Every person I have known who has one did not *need* one and always thought I was odd for using an" old fashioned" can opener - this would be the point where I would take out the little metal one piece thing you have to repeatedly puncture a can with to get the top off ....
