SC Breastfeeding Bill passes!

The Senate gave bill H 4347 it's second reading yesterday and passed unanimously! It has a third reading today, which is just a perfunctory measure. It will be sent back to the House for approval of the amendments the Senate made and then on to the Governor's desk. The Governor has made a suggestion that he would sign the bill and the House will approve the amendments as they were only changing 2 words. There ill be a exiting press conference today at the Statehouse with the SCBAC, Medela, and Select health. Here's the "leak" from the Post and Courier:

This is HUGE news and we are so excited! The SCBAC will be celebrating the approval of the bill on April 30th following the SC LLL conference. Here's the invite:

Please join the South Carolina Breastfeeding Action Committee for a celebration of the recent passage of breastfeeding legislation. South Carolina has joined 40 other states in valuing the impact breastfeeding has on our families. This event is in conjunction with Lin Cook's annual Bradley Method picnic and is sure to be plenty of fun for the entire family!

When: Sunday, April 30, 12:00pm-4:00pm (after La Leche League conference)
Who: Everyone who wants to come celebrate with us!
Where: James Island County Park-picnic area by playground
