Scar diminishing treatments?

I'm sure they don't quite fall in line with NFL, but I'm curious as to whether anyone here has had any luck with Mederma or some other scar treatment?

I have a couple burn scars on my arms that bother me.

My mother used Mederma for a surgery scar on her back post-surgery and had great results. It should work on old scars as well.
