I was at my aunt's this weekend (my mom was watching her 18 mo old twin girls) and changed one of the twins when they were dirty.

OMG, it was so foul!
I am spoiled only dealing w/dd's ebf poopies. Those toddler poops were huge, foul smelling, and everywhere. Not sure if the sposie use makes it worse or not.
:

Holy crap, Julia is gonna be ebf for as long as possible for that reason alone!

Here is what I have learned about toddler poop...milk (cow milk or soy milk not momma milk) makes for foul smelling poops. So does cheese, yogurt and meat. Veggies and grains actually aren't that bad (relatively speaking)....kind of makes you want to be a vegetarian actually.

I have one bit of advice for you: mini shower!! It's the best! Yeah, it's still kinda gross to change, but I have found that somehow the poop stays on the dipe when you open it and wipe them down. With sposies, the poop will stick to the toddler's rear end rather than the diaper a lot of the time. It's much easier with cloth.

Aren't you glad the babies break us in easy? Imagine if our babies were born as toddlers, complete with nasty poop and temper tantrums. lol!

Umm, we are vegetarian and believe me, we got some real nasty ones. I think the worst was bananas. Too many of those and man, I just wanted to run. The grains were kinda fun though-- brown rice often came out just it went in.

You know, I was afraid of toddler poops at first too, but really you get used to it! And I think it's different when it's your own kid - other kids poop still grosses me out much more than my son's ever can! And I agree - a mini shower is a necessity!!

And I have to agree that vegetarian still have nasty poop! LOL - I won't even go into detail, but let's just say beans usually come out not much different then they went in! LOL

Heh heh. It's really not that bad when it's your own child. The poops change consistency and smell gradually. Nothing like that first bright orange carrot poop, though!

Although I have to say the only thing that really makes me gag is raisins. Dh actually made me stop buying them for that reason alone!

Lulu just started eating her first food a week or so ago. Messy diapers are enough to make me want to exclusively breastfeed again. But she will be a year next week and is LOVING food.

I bought a mini shower. That thing is a lifesaver. I have a minishower question, though. I spray down the diaper and plop it into the pail, but what about the wipes? Those can be pretty scary at times. Do you hose those off, too? Bleech. Sometimes there isn't a clean corner to hold onto.
