A few months ago I had a very early pregnancy loss and am worried that if dd nurses a lot the same thing will happen again.

What information is there to either ease my mind or give me some concrete info about nursing and miscarriage?

Nothing concrete to tell you except that I've had several miscarriages, but I have also carried several pregnancies to term while nursing all the while. As my doctor pointed out to me, the connection is anecdotal, nothing more.

For no reason other than it made me feel better, though, in the first trimester I would try very hard to be as calm as possible when nursing, A, and even more specifically, B, to nurse laying down more often than not. Absolutely no medical evidence of anything here, only that it made me calmer, since I had the same worries that you have. Baseless though they are ...

again ...

The Kellymom link is a great resource. I just want to relate a story about a friend of mine who weaned when she was pregnant due to the same sort of fears. Several miscarriages led to her being afraid it was breastfeeding that caused them. Her son has been weaned now for nearly a year, and she's had two miscarriages since then.

It's rarely breastfeeding that causes miscarriages. Be sure to make the choice that you'll feel the most comfortable with if you're wrong. Nobody can make that choice but you. Both choices are legitimate.
