So my daughter is 4.5 weeks old and in one week I was planning on switching to cd's, I have prefolds and covers (needed most economical cd's)
So my problem is she is small (7lb 3oz) and she has LONG SKINNY legs

My other problem, she SCREAMS during most diaper changes, like hold her breath screaming, I tried one time to do the cd as an experiment and I had no time to try the angel fold w/ snappi, I got it on but had huge gaps in the legs, dont knwo if its cause I went so fast
thought we could trifold but that was bulky and gappy too
I'm wondering if I should wait one more month before starting??? Or is there another good super fast fold that is good for skinny thighed wriggling babies???

thank you!!!!!!!!

I think the bikini-twist is the quickest and easiest, and though I didn't use pf on my own newborns, they were always fairly skinny in the thighs and it seemed to hold stuff in pretty well. Any of the diaper sites that show folds should have them on it.

http://www.mtdiaperstore.com/shop/pages.php?pID=5

My son used to scream during diaper changes (still does sometimes, he's only 6 weeks old) but I started making sure his room was warm, if it's not I drape an extra prefold over the top of him, I think it makes him feel more secure (but he's wiggly so I kind of tuck it in under his armpits so it doesn't go flying over his face). I also started explaining everything I was going to do before I did it (like: okay I'm going to change your diaper now. I'm sitting you down on the table. I'm going to undo your diaper. I'm going to lift you up. You ready? 1, 2, 3...etc.). I also started to take things a little slower (I know this may seem counterintuitive). But now he smiles and talks baby talk to me during most diaper changes! I'm not quite sure which of these things did the trick, but most of the time he doesn't fuss now (unless I'm in a hurry: I think he just doesn't like all of the quickness). What made me think about these things was wondering how I would feel if someone suddenly plopped me down on a table in a cold room, undressed me, jerked me up and started messing with my privates without explaining what they were doing first. My husband used to think I was crazy, until he noticed that Aidan was only screaming during diaper changes with him. But, I digress, maybe you could try some of those things? Sorry if you already have and this is repetitous! HTH.
