Get thee to a chiropractor who wiil work with pregnant women. You will get *some* relief.

It will only go away totally after the baby is here.

I had this for my entire second pregnancy. I also had a cough the entire pregnancy also which aggravated it. I exercised on a stationary bicycle which helped enomously and raised my mood releasing some endorphins. I could exercise and it got the weight off of my hip for a bit.

Furthermore, my DD was two years old and loved to be held - she was also potty training, and insisted on sitting on the big toilet, so I had to pick her up and put her on it and then take her off - OUCH! I did not want to discourage a good thing!

I felt so good the day my son was born and the pain was gone that I hopped on my ten speed and went to the gym!

I too get horrible sciatic pain. With my 4th pg I would fall almost daily. I started physical therapy at 30 weeks 3x/week. I was lucky and insurance covered it. Ins even covered my exercise/birth ball. By 41 weeks I was down to 1 visit a week. I haven't tried chiro as we lived 3 hours from the nearest one.

I am almost 30 weeks with my current pg and my fave seat in the house is my ball. I am sitting on it now in front of my desk The ball (available at target for about $25-30 in pilates kits etc.) is wonderful! I am able to rotate my pelvis and get wonderful relief. Also, use a 12-13" childs ball, stand with the ball between your tailbone and a wall and roll down as far as you can to a sitting position. Do this for 10-15 minutes a day. The first week is the hardest but after that it is wonderful. I can walk without fear of falling.

Best wishes!
I have sciatic nerve pain on and off, but mostly off since I learned the following stretch: I lie on my side on the edge of couch, the side the doesn't hurt, and pull the leg that does hurt up to my chest, meanwhile DH pushes on the foot of the leg that hurts, and supports the knee to make the stretch better. I did that 3 times a day for 3 days and had major improvement. It still comes back, but I can just re-stretch if it does. I've also figured out how to do it without DH's help by pushing my foot against the arm of the couch.
