It's important that you go to the chiropractor. Find a good holistic one. Massages will help as well. Stretching and walking is also good. Ice can help bring some relief. The sciatic nerve runs from your hip/sacrum area all the way down your leg and then wraps around your heel. So it is all coming from the top there, which is where I'd put the ice and focus stretches. Really, when I had a bad case of sciatica a decade ago the thing that helped more than anything else was a nice, long walk. I had a really weird walk of course
: but I was so glad I did it.

What do you do for work? Are you stuck at a desk on a computer or something? Is it on your right side (are you right handed)? Is this recurring or is this something that has been happening recently? Sciatica is hard. I'm sorry. I hope it gets better soon.

Ekatherina...Chinese style acupuncture is super at relieving and curing sciatica pain. If you can find some practicing Tradiational Chinese Medicine (TCM) style acupuncture, give that a try. It may take several sessions, but it works wonders! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Have you tried ibuprofen? I usually don't take it but I also had very bad sciatica pain. I took ibuprofen for about a week and it was gone. Basically, the pain comes from swelling and ibuprofen reduces swelling. It was a simple cure that worked for me. If you've already tried it, I'd do as the pps suggested and go for chiro and/or acupuncture.
