I only dealt with sciatica for a short time in my 2nd tri with DD. It hurt, but gosh, I've been dealing with it from the start with this one! It comes and goes, but sometimes it hurts SOO bad just to get up from sitting (especially if I was on the floor) or stand/walk in certain ways.

Anyone else dealing with it?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

My pelvis is getting wonky. Thanks for reminding me that I need to call the chiro today!

I was dealing with this, but not for several weeks now. Baby must be in a better spot at the moment, but I imagine it'll be back at some point. I had it bad with DS, but mostly towards the end.

Ouch

Not yet, but man did I battle it last time. The chiro was a godsend for me. I'm planning to go back to the chiro again, sciatica or not, at the beginning of the third trimester, just to be on the safeside.

I hope you're feeling better soon mama.

My sciatica started early in this pg too!

My mw told me that 2nd time around is different coz you're body has been through this drill before so as soon as you bod gets the whiff of those pg hormones everything happens a bit quicker. That's why we show a bit earlier - muscles tone gone from elastin. Sciatica same thing.

OB said ice might help?? I would prefer heat but whatever. I just deal. I'm doing some yoga to try to gain some strength in back and butt.
I've heard massage helps

I hope it stays away today for you!

yep, early this time around for me too. It started by at least 10 weeks! And it's on both sides. Not yet as bad as with DD, but it didn't start with her until about 20 weeks. Chiro didn't help last time and I don't have coverage anymore. I'd like to get a message though, and I'm hoping that'll help.

I would check out craniosacral therapy too. I took a course in it earlier this year, and the woman I partnered with was 8 months pg. We did a lot of hand's on stuff with each other, practicing the things we were learning. She had bad sciatica (and was a physical therapist, so was already doing a bunch of stuff for it), and by the 3rd day of class, it was gone .

You can search for a practitioner near you at www.upledger.com. FWIW, I see a massage therapist who specializes in CST (doesn't even do massage anymore), and she charges $65 for an hour session.
