My scoby mother split into 2 parts plus made a baby. Is this okay? I'm only on my second batch, so I'm a newbie to this. Should I treat the split as one piece or two?

They normally don't split but if a layer was loose it's possible. Shouldn't affect the outcome though

If the mother is tearing easily, you may want to brew the baby with the mother for a couple of batches, and then use the baby as your new mother. When the mother gets old, usually after 6 months or so, it gets very dark and tears easily.

The pieces should be treated as 2 scobies.
