I hope it is ok to post here about seasonal allergies rather than food etc allergies

DS2 has had a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. In that 1 1/2 months he has had 2 periods of runny nose that each lasted only a few days. He does sneeze alot & has had some post nasal drip lately. I took him to the dr a week ago & the dr suspected back to back colds because of the period of sudden runny nose & then getting congested again. He did say it could be allergies, but either way it would be treated the same way. He suggested allergy/congestion medicine. We tried it, but it didn't help. He also suggested ginger tea, but DS wont drink it :

Prior to going to the dr, I tried humidifiers, aromatherapy, steamy bathroom, homeopathic sprays, saline spray, breastmilk dropped in the nose... probably other things I can't think of too. Nothing helped! I do remember him also being 'sick' alot last winter I don't remember his symptoms, but I know it was more on & off than it has been lately. We did elminate dairy for about 2 weeks & nothing changed. Any thoughts or suggestions?
