I hope it is ok to post here about seasonal allergies rather than food etc allergies

DS2 has had a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. In that 1 1/2 months he has had 2 periods of runny nose that each lasted only a few days. He does sneeze alot & has had some post nasal drip lately. I took him to the dr a week ago & the dr suspected back to back colds because of the period of sudden runny nose & then getting congested again. He did say it could be allergies, but either way it would be treated the same way. He suggested allergy/congestion medicine. We tried it, but it didn't help. He also suggested ginger tea, but DS wont drink it :

Prior to going to the dr, I tried humidifiers, aromatherapy, steamy bathroom, homeopathic sprays, saline spray, breastmilk dropped in the nose... probably other things I can't think of too. Nothing helped! I do remember him also being 'sick' alot last winter I don't remember his symptoms, but I know it was more on & off than it has been lately. We did elminate dairy for about 2 weeks & nothing changed. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Sometimes it just happens and it's nothing. Evan tends to get snotty in the winter and nothing seems to change it. We tried Nasonex and nothing changed so we just gave up. He was sleeping well and acting normally so we didn't bother. Not all allergy meds work for the same thing and not all work alone. We had to use 2 meds the first spring Evan had allergies b/c one didn't cut it. Ilana just started on allergy meds b/c her ears had been draining for a month (she has tubes) and nothing would stop it. By the next night they were finally clear, it was amazing! She goes back to the allergist in May and he said he'd probably test her then since she'll be 17 mos. I have bad allergies so the kids come by it naturally.
