We no longer can afford health insurance and I thought that we might be able to go with out if we could go to the 45th st clinic. Just wondering if anybody has experience going there or has heard what its like. Even better any suggestions as to what to do with no health insurance- I'm pretty freaked out about it.

Thanks

I wish I could help, but I need suggestions for the same thing.
Good luck, mama.

Not sure how tight your funds are but have you looked at this program?

I don't know much about it but it says that it costs 15/child or 45/family.

Strange, I had never heard about that. It still appears that we make too much for it, though. Not that it makes a difference for us, we still can't afford insurance through dp's work for all of us. It's a frustrating gray area to get stuck in.

For anyone else that wants to see, this is the page I found for income requirements: http://fortress.wa.gov/dshs/maa/chip...Standards.html

I also found this clinic too. It's not at all close but might be worth the drive

http://www.cdchc.org/index.php

I used 45th street for awhile, and still get my perscriptions there. It's okay, but I am a good deal more comfy with the Greenwood clinic. It's less crowded and teh staff are much nicer, in my opinion.

My friend works at greenwood and she says that the staff is very nice and competent, so I would go with that one (they are part of the same umbrella organization).

i have been going to the 45th st. clinic since i was a teenager, and i love it. i have always had a good experience there. the staff has always been helpful and kind (and non-judgemental). when i was a teen i went to their free drop in hours, but now dd and i are on med. coupons. anyway, my point is that i think they are a good clinic with good people.
