Anyone in Seattle interested in forming a free music playgroup? We're finishing up a music class that my DD enjoyed, but I can't afford another go around and I didn't really love the music all that much.

Maybe we could meet once a week (my place in Fremont?), play 8 songs (or enough to fill an hour), sing, shake instruments, dance around, have a fun time - how hard could it be? Hoping we all like alternative children's music - Putumayo, Elizabeth Mitchell, Justin Roberts, etc. Or maybe just any cool music will do. And we would commit to meeting regularly, which is hard when there's no payment to keep your feet to the fire.

Any ideas? Mixed age group seems to work well (any under 5s would be great). I'd appreciate any feedback. It seems kind of hard to get regular input from Seattle mamas. Are you all hanging out some place I don't know about?

Take care.

I would absolutely love to do this with dd!

I don't think we hang out anywhere. As you'll see from perusing the Seattle threads on here, we're apparently all distant and secluded, and don't want to be, but don't know how to change it. Drr. I'd love to, though, I just have a really hard time making that happen. Socializing doesn't come easy to me. But dancing around and making music with toddlers sounds like fun!

I'm distant and secluded! Like bjorker said!

Honestly, I'm dying for stuff to do with my young toddler lately. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to be much more organized and proactive- I get excited about something, then don't bother following through when I don't get the response I had hoped for:

Anyway, if 15mo (well, she'd be 16mo) isn't too young, we would love to join you.

Hey Erin!
You and Raina should totally come too. That'd be swell.

Completely unrelated (to this thread), but while I'm thinking of it ~
I totally copied your make-yer-own-burrito idea last night, and it was a success. hehe. Thanks for giving me the idea. Figuring that part out is always the worst part for me.

I might be interested in joining too. We live in Bothell so Fremont is a bit of a drive for us, but it is a definite possibility. I have a 3.5YO and a 1YO. Mornings work best for us. Not sure what others had in mind.

I'd love to join the music playgroup. This is a great idea! I'm new to this forum so please let me know how to join in. We live in Lake Forest Park and have a piano, so could also take turns hosting.
My son is just about to turn 1 year old, so it seems like we'll be contributing to the mixed ages part of the group.
Thanks!

I've got another young toddler (1 yr next month) and I've been intently looking for a playgroup for us. I'm willing to host and join in the musical fun and learn some new music!

I would join! I have a 3 yo and a 1 yo. Depending on when it is, though, since my 3 yo goes to school two mornings a week.

Fremont is good for us since we live in Ballard
