I used a strip of kombu in the soup I'm making and was wondering if it's ok to toss it to the hens when the soup is done?

(This seems like kind of a silly question...especially since it's such a tiny amount...but I wasn't sure if chickens can/should eat seaweed.)

Thanks.

It's fine, and they love it. Lots of minerals, too. We know someone who goes to the beach weekly to get a bit that is washed up on the sand. Her chickens almost always lay double yolks, too.
