DS will be turing two the end of August and I have no idea as to what to get him. He really isn't a sit down and play kind of kid. Except when it comes to his train set. He gladly sits and plays with that 30 minutes at a time. What else can we give him other than train tracks and cars? I'm at a loss. Thanx for the help. Bye.

We are getting DS a bike next month for his birthday. He may be getting a sand and water table from my parents or maybe a scooter made designed for toddlers. I also bought him some play food for inside the house.

Our twin boys just turned two and their favorite toys are a set of wood building blocks, a sand and water table (however, the sand doesn't stay at the table
), and books. I just ordered them handmade baby dolls. They love to pretend they are holding a baby.

The play food is a great idea too. We have a Little Tykes kitchen and that is a huge hit too!

Good luck!

Memberships to fun things? That's what I'm going to ask for - the zoo, museum, music classes, etc.

Books, books, and more books. At this point we have tons of our favorite "toddler" friendly books, so I'm going to ask for books for her collection [A Wrinkle in Time Box set, Pippi Longstocking, stuff like that...]

Craft supplies! Can't have too many of these..

I can't think of anything else really - My daughter turns two in August as well, and I know we are going to get flooded with junk I will be returning.

Let's see, at two my son was into play-doh with little metal diggers and a big garbage truck and dump truck. Fagus makes some amazing wooden trucks, depending on what your budget is. Here's one:

I also really like Tag Toys. We got my son one of their lockboxes when he was two and it was a big hit. (Used as a garage for matchbox cars, a zoo for plastic animals, etc.)

Outdoor stuff is also fun. A wagon? A ride-on of some sort?

Good luck!

Our almost 2 yo loves his books, anything he can use for outdoor water play, his zoo membership, wooden puzzles, a wooden car with people he can take in and out (ours is very similar to the North Star Toys Happy Hybrid but my dad made it), knit blocks my MIL made, and musical instruments.
