How do you guys get rid of your seconds? You know the stuff that isn't perfect - maybe just a few stitches off or not quite centered. Should I create a seconds category on my site? Or should I just send out an e-mail to previous customers?

TIA,
Keri

I have been thinking about this very thing since I am certain to end up with soe seconds in my new business venture. I have thought that I would offer a category called seconds and sell them at a reduced price. I would simply tell people what a second means so they know they aren't getting something crappy, only minorly flawed.
I suppose you could always send out an e-mail notifying of seconds because people who bought from you once are bound to wish they had more and at a reduced price for something less-than-perfect is always nice.
Good luck and of course share any ideas you come up with!

I think that both ideas that you mentioned are a good idea.

Perhaps create a seconds area on your website, and e-mail previous customers. If you simply e-mail previous customers, you may be inundated with e-mails from people who all want to buy the same item. If you put a seconds page on the website, you could update it when items are no longer available, eliminating all of the e-mailing back and forth.

BTW, as a previous customer, I would totally interested in seconds
