I'll be moving to Ellington soon and I'm just wondering if there are any secular homeschool groups around? My daughter is only 3, so we haven't started anything formal at all, but I'd love to meet other homeschooling parents! Are there any secular homeschoolers of preschool-aged children anywhere near Ellington? : ) That seems unlikely but my fingers are crossed...

You can check on www.fclct.org/discussions and [email protected]. The first is a statewide discussion board and there's at least one Ellington secular homeschooler there who I can think of off the top of my head. She has a little boy about the same age as your kiddo. The second is a statewide e-mail list for general homeschooling discussions and event announcements.

I do know there is a secular homeschooling co-op that meets at the Lutz Children's Museum in Manchester on Mondays called the Monday Homeschoolers. Very nice folks, great classes and activities. Manchester's pretty close to Ellington -- maybe a 10- to 15-minute drive. http://mhcct.org/
